Reshem Agarwal began practicing Bharatanatyam at a young age of five. She has been a disciple of Smt. Kalyani Shanmugarajah for the past fifteen years. She completed her Arangetram in summer of 2006. She has participated in many of Kalapeetham’s productions, and this is her first performance as a member of the Kalapeetham Dance Company. With years of dedication and practice, Reshem grew to love the art form and appreciate its rich heritage. She is proud to continue learning and hopes to grow as a dancer for years to come. Currently, Reshem is studying at the University of Southern California with an emphasis in Biological Sciences and Spanish. She enjoys traveling, writing and new artistic pursuits. She feels very fortunate to have been exposed to different cultures in her youth and remains grateful to her family and teachers for their dedicated support and encouragement.
