Guru Sitaravamma was groomed in the authentic Kalakshetra tradition of Bharatha Natyam by Jaya Teacher of Kalakshetra, and in the Kuchipudi style of dancing by Maestro Vempati Chinna Satyam.  Sitaravamma served the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Mauritius as an Advisor for 10 years before she began teaching at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society in 1993.  She launched the Singapore chapter of Kalapeetham in 2002.  Kalapeetham Singapore believes in promoting and propagating the Indian Heritage and Arts in Singapore by participating in the multicultural and ethno-cultural diversity programmes.
